Hydrogen chloride synthesis technology to achieve waste heat utilization
April 07, 2022
For the use of heat energy in the synthesis of hydrogen chloride, two methods are currently used in China: one is the use of steel water jacketed hydrogen chloride synthesis furnace to produce hot water. This type of steel synthesis furnace is vulnerable to corrosion at the top and bottom of the furnace and has a short service life. The application of by-product hot water has a limited range of applications; the other is the use of graphite-based hydrogen chloride synthesis boilers that produce hot water or steam at a pressure of 0.2-0.3 MPa. Since graphite is a non-metallic brittle material, there is not only a certain safety hazard, but also The use of by-product hot or low-pressure steam heat energy can only reach 40%, and the application scope is also limited.
In the waste heat utilization technology of hydrogen chloride synthesis, a steel steam fireplace is used in the high temperature section of the intermediate pressure steam synthesis furnace; graphite is used in the section where the steel at the top and bottom of the synthesis section is susceptible to corrosion. This method not only overcomes the disadvantages of low strength and limited use temperature of the graphite furnace tube, but also overcomes the disadvantages of easy corrosion of the top and bottom of the synthesis section, so that the utilization rate of heat energy for hydrogen chloride synthesis is increased to 70%, and by-product steam is produced. The pressure can be arbitrarily adjusted between 0.2 and 1.4 MPa. It can be used in combination with medium and low pressure steam nets to make full use of thermal energy.
