The spherical magnesium chloride-supported polypropylene catalyst independently researched and developed by the China Petroleum Institute of Petroleum and Petrochemicals successfully conducted a pilot test last week on the polypropylene 75 kg/h polypropylene unit.
This trial produced a total of two grades of polypropylene products, namely high-melt homopolymer polypropylene and high-melt high-impact polypropylene. In the pilot test process, the self-made spherical catalysts have good polymerization release stability, and the high melting index high-impact copolymerized polypropylene products all meet the performance requirements of SP179 for automobile bumpers, and the melting index reaches 13 or more; High Melt Index homopolymer polypropylene melt index up to 50, isotacticity of more than 98%.
PetroChina Research Institute of Petroleum and Petrochemical Technology has started the research and development of spherical polypropylene catalysts and additives since 2004, and has formed a new type of internal electron donor preparation technology with industrial scale-up prospects. The spherical polypropylene catalyst used in this pilot test was prepared by a spherical magnesium chloride carrier independently developed by the institute and a succinate type internal electron donor with independent intellectual property rights.
